How to resize an image
- Choose or drop your photo.
- Pick a format and quality.
- Press Convert & resize image. Its longest side becomes 1280 pixels.
Why 1280 pixels?
Modern phones take photos 4000 pixels wide or more, far bigger than any screen needs. 1280 pixels on the longest side looks sharp on phones and laptops and cuts the file size dramatically.
Need another size? Use the image converter, which offers 800, 1920 and 3840 pixels too.
Frequently asked questions
- Will my photo be stretched?
- No. The width and height shrink by the same amount, so proportions stay the same. Smaller images are never enlarged.
- Are my images uploaded?
- Nothing is uploaded. The conversion runs entirely in your browser, so your photo never leaves your device.
